How important is Vacation Bible School to you and your family?

A Word from Our Pastor

I would like to tell you what I think about First Southern Baptist Church of Cornville and its future in helping to build God’s Kingdom here on earth.

  • We have a great place to serve God!  We are the only church of any kind in Cornville.  Not only that, but we are also the only church of any kind for a radius of seven miles.  This is also a growing community.  There are literally hundreds of new houses being built or planned right now.
  • We have the greatest group of people that I have pastored in twenty years in the pastorate.  The love and fellowship just can’t be beat.
  • We have a great time of learning about God and His will for us on Sunday morning in our Bible Study for all ages (9:45am).
  • We have an enthusiastic praise and worship service on Sunday mornings that is both uplifting and rewarding (11am).
  • Our Sunday evening traditional service (5:30pm) is just a little different.  This is a time where I bring what I call an interactive message.  This is simply one in which I may ask questions of the congregation during my message, and they may also ask questions of me.
  • Our Wednesday evening Prayer/Bible Study (7pm) is a time where we attempt to learn from God’s word through discussion, meditation and prayer.  Our approach to Bible study is that we should always be questioning our understanding of God’s Word.  When we do this, then, there is no room for argument, since we are each attempting to learn from everyone else.
  • We have an active Young Adult group which recently took a mission trip to Douglas, Arizona and Agua Prieta, where they conducted a Vacation Bible School and toured and helped serve in a soup kitchen.  They are also planning another trip to Agua Prieta in November to do some construction on a new soup kitchen there.  (They meet Wednesdays at 6:30pm.)
  • We have an active seniors group, The Young at Heart, which is reaching out to many seniors in the area with love and fellowship.  (They meet the first Tuesday of each month at noon.)
  • We have a Women’s Missionary Union which will meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7pm.  Come and learn about missions and even do some missions projects.
  • We also have Biblical Counseling available to the entire community.  I am trained in and have many years experience in Biblical Counseling.  Please let me help you through your troubled time.
If you live in the area, we would like to extend a wholehearted appeal to you to join us at any or all of the above mentioned events.  Won’t you come by and see us?  If you have any questions, please feel free to call and talk to me.

May God bless and keep you,
